The OP is talking about a video she received in an e-mail from QVC with wearing tips.
She's not talking about the hosts presenting the product.

You may not need or appreciate the video tips, but there are probably those who do. NBD

The point is, I received the link to this video in an EMAIL.
I have no issues with videos on the QVC site or elsewhere.
Please re-read the ORIGINAL post.

I always find it interesting how annoyed some people get by what the salesperson is saying. I thought this was a shopping channel and they had sales people selling. So I am curious what other people suggest they say. I am not bashing, I am seriously curious how some people would prefer the host to sell the item
I also want to know what these people want a Host to say? they have so many minutes to fill on each item..I know it gets repetitive..BUT..Hello...it's a hard job.I know most of you don't think so..It looks easy..but I'd like to see any one of you who complain, to go on air and have to talk about something, for X amount of minutes and make it interesting...

@GingerPeach wrote:So I was especially puzzled today to receive an email from QVC with a link to a video showing "handy tips" on how to wear the Susan Graver jacket that was a recent TSV.
The video shows me I can wear a tank plus accesories or I can wear a dress plus accessories (each outfit topped with the jacket). I'm torn between (1) feeling infantilized and (2) realizing that they do this to sell a customer more stuff.
I presume this was the "fashion file" video available on the item page as well? Really, this is the sort of thing fashion magazines do all day long -- illustrate ways to combine various pieces into outfits. I don't find it "infantilizing" or insulting in any way. QVC is, after all, a shopping channel out to market and sell merchandise. Haven't you ever seen a piece of clothing worn or combined with other items in a way that would never have occurred to you? I certainly have, and it has, on occasion, prompted me to purchase an additional piece.
ETA: I'm not sure the main point of your original post was very clear. From the title, one would assume that you objected to the assumption that you need help putting outfits together. Or do you object to the fact that they chose to send you unsolicited email or ???

It's all about $$. That's why l opted out of receiving promotional e-mails from the Q (and other retailers, as well.) I don't want them to attempt to sell me more stuff l don't need.See, that's the thing. I am already opted out of receiving promotional email from QVC (and most other retailers).
The only thing I checked as agreeing to receive is shipping updates and the occasional program reminder (that I set periodically). So why I got this email is a huge mystery.
It's not enough to complain about, but I will if this keeps up. I wouldn't have actually started a thread about this if I had been expecting this type of email from QVC.
I don't mind if they go into "selling nonsense" AFTER they have done their job of iforming us of inseams, rise, petites & talls, fabric, fit, where the waist comes to, all the things you examine when in the B&M. Half the time, they just want to sell w/o giving imp info. Some give all the colors, think their job is done, and talk nonsense.
As for wearing jackets over everything, that's really starting at the bottom of knowledge.

Clearly, this has to do with unsolicited email. That's it, pure and simple.

Once again, this has nothing whatsoever to do with QVC presentations about clothing. Whether I like them or not, whether I like some of them or not, whatever I feel about them is immaterial.
This has to do with receiving unsolicited email, email which I already advised QVC I did NOT wish to receive.
