If the clothing is in good shape, I think it should be donated.  It may be out of style, but someone could possibly use it.

it's so easy to just throw them away....but there are so many places to donate....take the extra step and donate them....i donate to Big Sisters.....sometimes they even do pick up.....

Donate. The thrift store chain I shop at recycles their clothing if not sold.

Always donate if the garments are wearable (not stained, or damaged).  Classic work styles are in demand for people looking to upgrade their job.  Maybe there is a dress for success or similar nearby.  But even things that are not as nice, Salvation Army takes most things, or at least they did pre-covid.  Maybe call in advance of the drop off.  Just make sure items are clean.  Hopefully they can sell them, or if not, give to a fabric recycler.

I donate only clothes that are pretty current.

@denisemb  Definitly donate. Someone could use them.

I donated my business attire to a women's law organization. They keep a closet for new grads. Some colleges have closets for students to have access to interview clothing. My Talbots has a gently used clothing collection time.

Problem with these options is that they are hard to locate.

Donate.  Our chuches have not been accepting clothing during the pandemic but I have given at least 6 bagsful of clothing to the Salvation Army in the past 6 months and have 2 more to give them.  Clothing does not need to be "current."  Throwing wearable clothing out seems a terrible waste to me.
