@maximillian. Its the rather innovative  fabric from which the garment is made.  Undoubtedly expensive due to the process which makes it so soft and drapey.

Prices have risen.  I suggest you check around at some vendors like Dillards and Nordstrom that offer a similar product as that one.

I agree........and i am sure i heard the vendor say that the shirt is made from recycled cotton..........that itself would 

make me think twice.......

@maximillian   you are certainly entitled to your opinion.

My definition of Price gouging ~ overcharging for an item when an alternative is not available.  The key being "when an alternative is not available."

Certainly there are many options for clothing purchases.
