I need some perspective.

I decided to buy myself a top and a necklace from Johnny Was online as a Christmas present earlier this week.  I received the top almost immediately and the necklace is still on its way.

Today I received an email with a promo code for 25% off on a purchase.  I called to ask for a price adjustment on my purchase and was refused.  Actually, the CS rep was a bit snippy which surprised me.

Is it standard procedure to not receive an adjustment in a case like this?

Re: Price Adjustments Question

@tansy.  Yes, the coupon will often say, " not valid for prior purchases".  It was probably a " thank you" for making the original purchase.

Okay.  Thanks.  I couldn't find the small print.

I guess the lesson to be learned is to just make a small original purchase 😏

Re: Price Adjustments Question

The coupon probably  clearly states "on your next purchase" or "a future purchase".  I get those all the time when I shop online.

Re: Price Adjustments Question

My car dealership routinely sends a coupon after I've had service.  Gee, thanks alot  . . . it's not like I will come in to buy more car repair.

Re: Price Adjustments Question

You got your size before it sold out, right?

You got the color you wanted before it sold out, right?

If you waited until the coupon, it may not be there.  I consider it the "security of the gamble".

Personally, I always play the safe side.
