Ponchos for ladies who live in a warmer climate

I know my friend would love this, but she moved to Jacksonville, FL a couple years ago. Would this be appropriate for the climate during the winter months?

I think it would be fine. She'd get a couple months of wear. I could see it being worn in 50 degree temps.

Jacksonville has many days and evenings cool enough to wear this poncho.  It is 60 there tonight.  We do have cold days in Florida and lots of cool mornings and evenings.  Central Florida was in the high 50s this morning.

I lived in Houston over 30 years, and for many of them my standard winter "coat" was a lightweight, washable wool poncho that I made myself.
