Ponchos, Capes, Long Cardigans, etc

How many can QVC sell?  I feel like every time I look at a fashion show they are showing someone's version of a poncho, or a moto jacket, or a cape, or a cowl neck sweater, or a long cardi.  Between Halston, Barefoot Dreams, Denim & Co, Women With Control, Lisa Rinna....everyone is offering the same thing.  Yikes.

Re: Ponchos, Capes, Long Cardigans, etc

Haven't been watching the shows; however, over the last year, I noticed that I now have a nice wardrobe of long cardigans, shawls, shrugs, capes and a poncho.

My basic seasonal wardrobes haven't changed but the addition of these items has made me more comfortable: going in and out of overly air-conditioned places.  When the seasons change, these items are easy to remove and make transition to cooler weather easier.

i always keep a neutral wrap in the car, just in case.

Re: Ponchos, Capes, Long Cardigans, etc

It is not just QVC. Everyone everywhere seems to have lots of them ready for fall. Ponchos & capes seem to be around all the time but definitely more in the last season or two.

I think the longer cardigans/dusters were just starting to show up last fall/winter.

The fashion industry seems to push one or two styles on us over & over long past when most of us are tired of them. The hi/lo tops are an example. If they could just learn moderation...

According to some fashion "experts" , THE CAPE is the NEW JACKET for fall/winter 2016. I'm not diggin' it.Smiley Indifferent

From a manufacturing point of view that's an easy way to profit...very little effort to construct and sparse hardware, if any and minimal amount of fabric needed compared to a traditional jacket.

I agree with you totally.....my first thought this morning was....ugh. another poncho?.....and the duster sweaters are non stop...............unfortunately ....i think they are here for another year or two.....just like we had a couple years of never ending scarves!! (in the summer too!)...

i find the regular stores change the fashion quickly/often more annually....so will prob end up there more often this year........................QVC tends to hold on to fads a bit longer i guess due to inventory....

All of these styles have gone in and out of " style" for years.  I have collected enough of them and do not need any more.  I will be looking for fresh new items.   If they are not available that is OK.  I will shop in my own closet and rotate out pieces that I probably did not wear last year.   Nothing new to purchase is good news for my bank account.

For those of us who live in warm climates, capes, ponchos and long cardigans are our winter outerwear.  I like seeing a variety of choices.

Don't worry. Pretty soon they'll be showing dozens of faux fur, wool and sherpa coats and MY eyes will be rolling back in my head.   Woman LOL

Re: Ponchos, Capes, Long Cardigans, etc

I have a chuckle everytime the hosts are saying how excited they are at wearing coats and boots and scarves... just a few weeks ago they were so looking forward to the warmth and summer clothes.  I take everything  the hosts say with a grain of salt. Look at this TS today.. an out of date poorly fitting animal skin.  QVC  can not even get a style that is attractive to sell. Repeats, out of date fashion and no real deals.....

No wonder that their bottom line$$$ was in the red this past quarter... QVC is not stepping up to the plate in offering anything new or interesting.  Sales are going to suffer because of this... also their website is the pits.
