Re: Polyester and more polyester

My sleep lounge pants are 100% cotton, but I don't have to worry about ironing them.  Other clothing are poly and poly blends.  I don't iron and poly and poly blends look great with no ironing involved.

Guess I'm in the minority here. I love a poly-cotton blend over 100 percent cotton. If a shirt or other item of clothing is all cotton, I won't buy it. Except for towels or socks.

You're definitely not in the minority @tototwo .

Re: Polyester and more polyester

My jeans are still mostly cotton.  And yes they are expensive. Not only cotton, but supima cotton.  I think most of them have 1% stretch.  I have two 100% cotton jeans.  They're called rigid.  I had to break them in, but once they fit, they fit forever.

Re: Polyester and more polyester

Since polyester is a petroleum by-product ... given the current situation regarding refineries .... prices will probably rise.

Not only polyester .... but everything that's related.

Count me in for cotton-poly blend🙋‍♀️. There is a more substantial feel to the fabric and holds up better wash after wash, and takes the color dye better IMO.

Re: Polyester and more polyester

I really don't see anything being taken over by polyester. But I don't shop the Q so maybe its just them? I don't bargain shop so I'm thinking its the price you pay.... the old saying "you get what you pay for".

Re: Polyester and more polyester

To quote above unnamed poster, Polyester is cheap ugly and uncomfortable.  Depends on the garment IMHO.  I prefer to think it looks like silk.  I wear poly tops because they come out of the dryer or off the drying hanger ready to wear.  Cotton is best for my sleepwear, it breathes and can still be warm.  My "avoid" is viscose and/or rayon.

Sorry!  I'm a fan of polyester.  I'm all for easy care at this stage of my life.

Go to the Gap website and you will find up to date styles, great prices, and cotton galore among other nice fabrics. Not true that's it's not affordable, it's the Q that has people convinced of that. I buy at the Gap and have been for a long time now with free shipping and returns to boot!

I totally agree.  I hate polyester and anything with a blend with polyester.  They will never convince me it is great.   Polyester is cheap, ugly and uncomfortable for me.  I am learning to shop elsewhere based on suggestions from folks here.  So sad that it uses to be fun, easy and reliable to shop here.

@avid shopper  - I shop here and other places.  The clothing I have purchased here is NOT cheap, ugly and uncomfortable for me.   Yes if you are sad here, you should not shop here.
