@eddyandme I still have a pair of those (not from high school) along with a half slip. I even have a full slip that was my mom's. I seldom wear them but they don't take up  much room in the drawer so they stay!

I agree that it doesn't stop the see through if a skirt is sheer.  However for skirts that aren't sheer it keeps the fabric from sticking to your legs plus keeps the upper thighs from rubbing together.

@Kachina624   I've never tried it, but maybe the bloomers are just log enough that they do the work a slip does by keeping a top from cupping one's derriere.  I don't expect to take action to erase this lack of knowledge.

I wear pettipants. I found some online several years ago. I prefer them because the material of the flowy shorts doesn't cling like a half slip, but I get the coverage I desire.

Slip shorts don't prevent people from seeing the outline of your legs. In the right lighting conditions people will see all the way up to you know where.

@wilma.  Some years ago when they were popular, I had several broomstick skirts and couldn't find anything to wear under them.  I made myself a half slip, a little fuller than normal, out of a very thin cotton fabric.  Worked great.  I've still got it and could wear it under a longer dress if I was so inclined.

Guess I am old school..I would never wear that long leg panty (TSV0 under a dress or skirt that was shear, you can still see between the legs!!!!

The hem of those panties also shows thru your pants/slacks, I have had several different brands, the only ones that do not show are the ones that come down over your knee to the middle of the calf...and they are warm, even as shear as they are.  I might consider wearing them to a special event but certainly not every day.

FIrst, I think these long lines are too long for shorter dresses/skrts we may want to wear in the summer. They'd be ok for midis and maxis. They also have no hold-in control. I wear panties that have firm control, I always have because there is no "jiggle". These longlines have neither of thes for me.

I also may be in the minority but I still like to put on a short half slip because I like the glide of my outerwear over a slip. Call me oldfashioned.

To me these are for chaffing, thighs rubbing together & having a smooth, no panty line showing under a fitted dress & for these issues they work fine.  If someone has a sheer skirt, it should be lined or you need a slip.

"Pedi-pants" of the 1960's?????

Slip material with an elastic waist made into a long pair of shorts.

@ECBG.  That was @wilma that had pedipants, not me.  I think I've seen them advertised recently.
