As an older woman I don't care to wear platform shoes.  And they feature so many.  Even so many "flats" even sneaker type shoes have platforms.  I'm afraid of falling. Or falling off.  I don't mind a very small front platform on a shoe with a higher heel.

Anyone else?

@FranandZoe I'm not crazy about the look of platform but I love wedge sandals. I am short so a little height is a bonus without a heel. My wedges usually only have a pitch of about 1-2" max.

Don't buy shoes you feel unstable in, not worth the chance of falling.

I remember the platform shoes that I wore in my younger days, but no more! I'm tall so I don't need the height and I also remember turning an ankle off those platforms!  OUCH!

Wear them all the time. Never had a problem.

I remember a beautiful pair of rainbow leather high platforms that I had about 1974 ( bought on Height Ashbury during Summer of Love). I returned to my job in Germany, where I almost killed myself in them on a cobblestone street. I still regret tossing them because obviously they were dangerous.

These were so popular when I was in high school, in the early 70's.  Just about all the girls had them.  I'm already tall to begin with and they made me look like even more of an Amazon.  Even so, I tried them and nearly broke an ankle. Returned them the next day.  I am much more stable with a lower heel.

I don't like high platform or flatform shoes. I didn't wear platforms back in the 70s either. I find them difficult for walking. I can wear a small one inch platform on a sneaker or shoe but nothing higher than that. I still wear wedges and heels up to 3 inches occasionally, but I don't want a thick platform under the toe box.

At 5' 2" I wore platforms when I was young.  Loved them and learned to walk without falling.   It depends on where you live and work as to how they do.  I remember taking them off to walk from our country drive way to the house because of gravel and grass.  I still wear a low platform at times.

I'm 5'1" and I don't care. I'm short and I'm going to stay that way. I never could wear much of a heel and now that I'm older if it's not flat it stays in the store,

It was a sad day for me recently when I had to retire all my Danskos.  Fell twice and then they were out.  Really made me feel like I was saying good bye to my old life.
