Plaids should match at seams on fashions

Dear Designers,

Please match the plaids at the seams of your garments.    No matter how nice the fabric is, if the plaids don't match up, the garment  cannot be considered good quality.  Thank you.

Buy Denim & Co and this won't be an issue.  Gary Goben, the chief designer, insists that plaids and stripes match.  The more cheaply made lines like Cuddl Duds have unmatching syripes and plaids.  I agree, it looks swful and I won't buy.

Absolutely. Something my mom taught me to look for many years ago. Unmatched plaids, stripes, checks are definitely in lesser quality clothing and always a deal breaker for me!

Thanks for bringing this up.  I saw a pair of Isaac M  pants but others had pointed out the  seams did not match up  correctly so I did not buy them. I did buy a Joan Rivers plaid skirt . I noticed after receiving it  that the seams  did not match up either.

So,  these vendors & designers should not be touting  how  quality these items are. I'm finding alot is cheap abt the JC Penny or Sears quality   but are priced  much higher  .

Agree! Mismatched plaids or patterns at the seams is a dealbreaker for me, too.

I totally agree - I always check seams for matching prints and stripes.  This is one reason why I'd rather shop in stores and not online.

That is what I base on my buying an item--if the plaids match ---I noticed that the stuff that is sold on Evine, neglects tha alot. It is difficult to match plaids , very time consuming and pricey--and if the fabric is just a hair off, then the whole thing with be off. Worked in a grament manufacturing place when I was younger---gave me headaches trying to get the patterns to match

Another person here who insists on plaids & stripes matching up at side seams. If not, I won’t buy.

One of the several reasons I'm wearing my Denim & Co. shirt tomorrow to a family gathering is that its plaid is perfectly matched.

Back in the day, l used to sew some of my clothes. It took extra time— and more fabric— to match the plaid at the seams before cutting the patterns. But the results were well worth the effort!
