A subtle flair can be flattering on some women.

I'm with the op on this. They don't do anyone any favors.

I agree with you and i never understand the need for someone to have to comment negatively about what the op is talking about............agree, disagree.....but why comment

if you are tired of the subject.......just PASS the topic altogether

I’m an apple shape so they don’t work for me.  I’m built pretty much straight up and down without much of a waist.  By the time I get a top (or pants for that matter) to fit my waist it’s too big everywhere else.

I think peplums work for women who have narrow hips, and want to look more curvy.

I see some women who look good in peplum tops, most do not, imo. In the past I owned 2, one worked, one did not. I believe the slimmer peplum was better on me than the one that was more full. I have wide shoulders and slimmer hips, so that may be why the one worked.

I think the peplum tops are for girls or women that are very thin.  If you have a little meat on you, the top will only add pounds.

You have my sympathy that peplums don't do YOU any favors. Don't presume to speak for the rest of us--or the myriad of designers throughout the years who found women to beautifully showcase that flounce at the waist.

The pain they have cost us, the evils that never happened.
