Thank you so much for posting this. Smile, what a fitting song. Tear Jerker for sure but just perfect. Gerardo has a Special on tonight at 9 PM on FNCHD.

Re: People Magazine report on the service

Joan was an avid theater goer. I ran into her several times over the years at Broadway Shows as well as small venues.

Joan had loved Audra McDonald's recent performance as Billy Holliday so much, she went to see it several times. The song Hugh Jackman sang was written by Peter Allen in honor of Judy Garland. He had been her protege ( and son-in-law). Hugh's performance in "The Boy from Oz" was one of those unforgettable nights in the theater, nobody will ever forget.

May her soul rest in peace. We all loved her, and miss her more then we knew we would, don't we?

Audra McDonald is such an amazing singer... and that song... such a beautiful piece of music written by Charlie Chaplin. Thanks for sharing that.

'Smile' is one of my favorite songs ever!

Katrin B...

We didn't know how much we loved her... and how much she influenced us. I certainly am overwhelmed with my emotions since she was taken ill. She's taught me a lot in these few brief days to be me and not let anyone dim that light that we each have to shine.

And of course... to wear jewelry, not to impress, but to make us feel pretty and happy!

Re: People Magazine report on the service

Thanks for posting, it sounds like Melissa gave Joan just what she wanted and that is an awesome tribute to her strength and her love for her mother.

New York, New York sounds so appropriate for music to send her on her way.

Rest in peace, Joan and I wish comfort and peace for her family and friends who will miss her.

Yes we do, and I think she was simply one of those forces of nature that without even really ever thinking about it some of us assumed would just always be there and would probably outlive us all...
