I wear pantyhose whenever I dress up, regardless of the season.  Even in the hottest weather, I'd rather have silky pantyhose on, particularly when I cross my legs when I'm sitting.  There is nothing worse than crossing hot, sweaty legs.

I've never understood why some say they will wear tights but not pantyhose.  They are the same thing just a different thickness. If you wear the size, pantyhose are not uncomfortable.  If they bind you or worse yet, fall down, you are wearing the wrong size.

Pantyhose make shoes fit better.  There is no friction to cause blisters.

The thickness is what makes the difference for me.  I have longer nails and pantyhose run very easily for me.  Or I catch them somehow on something and they get a hole or run.

I can pretty much beat my tights up and they don't run.  I have had tights for so long, I had to toss them because they just got a gross feeling to them from being old and washed so many times.  I can count on one hand the number of times I've gotten a run or hole in a pair of tights.

@BriggsiePeawiggle,Totally agree with you!  To me, a bare leg or foot looks unfinished when wearing dark fall or heavy winter clothes as well as I don't like the feel.  Wearing hosiery never bothered me.

I wear Hanes Silk Reflections.  They're yummy!

Bare feet aren't good for shoes either.

You might look at Nordstrom for hosiery for tall gals.  Good luck.

NAT:  I wear silk reflections by Hanes.  My DIL and daughter wear nothing but and daughter is in the fashion business.  She is tall.  They have tall girls (even at Dillard's).  I shop there.  They shop Vonmaur, Neiman-Marcus and Nordstrom.  They are often in other areas of the world from me.

@Nonametoday,@Briggise, Hanes has a very strong on line presence, esp with seconds which I have never had an issue with.  Ine side of the pantie may be a little higher  when sewn together.

When you order, they send you a catalog.

Thank you for this info. I DID go to DSW and found their hose in my size. I hope they are soft and comfy. I'll know more after Sunday when I wear skirts to church -- which is work for me as I'm a church Music Director.

I don't wear bare legs, especially here in Wisconsin in the winter time. I wear a lot of skirts and dresses, so I prefer tights, But do wear Pantyhose as well. I have found some really nice ones at believe or not DSW Shoes......They are not as thick as tights, but not as thin as regular pantyhose-kind of in between, and they last. Bad part-price-they are 10.00 a pair. I have purchased 3 pairs since last year, and still have them and they are good as new!!!!!!I hand wash mine too......

I swear some designer guy wearing socks and long pants decided women should be bare legged.  He's plenty warm.

I agree....it's so silly unless you live in a tropical climate!

I'd say the same guy also thinks the 5" + heels look good with the bare legs. Most women who attempt to walk in those heels look SO uncomfortable. I always thought a 3 or 3-1/2" heel looked really great. Smiley Happy

What I really love about the DSW via spiga line is that they are beautiful and sheer enough to look like pantyhose but seem stronger than most hose -- including Legacy. I tried them on yesterday, and omg they fit so well. The legs are nice and long. I'm tall with long legs but need a larger size these days. They work beautifully. I went on line and bought a bunch more pairs.

Made the mistake of not buying the Legacy Legwear Precious Minerals set of 3. Waited to long and they were gone now all I can do is hope they will get them back in. Being on my feet all day and in the winter am outside would feel great on and keep  me a bit warmer. Longjohns are to bulky and once you start sweating you get even colder.

I just ordered some Hanes Silk Reflections knee highs off of Amazon. Here's hoping they're  slippery enough to solve my problem.  (As I mentioned in my answer to Andreatoo, it's not a static problem but rather two fabrics "grabbing" each other.) Thanks for suggesting this brand. 😊

@Texasmouse, I love that line. I use them for pantyhose (although I rarely if ever need them these days) and knee-highs. I hope that solve that problem for you.

I have always worn pantyhose even under pants for dressy wear!  It looks and feels so much nicer.   We do all need to find the right brand for us however!Woman Happy

@suzyQ3

Thank you! They do feel lovely but, unfortunately, they didn't end up being slippery enough to keep my pants from sticking to them. Smiley Sad

@Texasmouse, oh, sorry to hear that. I don't wear them that often, so maybe I just have forgotten that they do that. Anyway, I hope you find something that works for you.
