Re: Pantone Spring, 2016. Ready for "Rose Quartz'?

Limpet Shell sounded like a pink or coral shade, not aqua blue!

Anything has got to be better than the current color,  Marsala.

Who decides this for us all?? Who would wear a color just because some nobody said it was the COLOR OF THE YEAR? Seriously.

Re: Pantone Spring, 2016. Ready for "Rose Quartz'?

This is a blurb from Wikipedia about how the color of the year is chosen:

Annually Pantone declares a particular color "Color of the Year". Twice a year the company hosts, in a European capital, a secret meeting of representatives from various nations' color standards groups. After two days of presentations and debate, they choose a color for the following year; for example, the color for summer 2013 was chosen in London in the spring of 2012.[16] The color purportedly connects with the zeitgeist; for example the press release declaring Honeysuckle the color of 2011 said "In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going – perfect to ward off the blues."[17] The results of the meeting are published in Pantone View ($750), which fashion designers, florists, and many other consumer-oriented companies purchase to help guide their designs and planning for future products

I like some of the colors like Fiesta and the yellow but I already forgot the name.  LOL

Not a fan of rose quartz.  It reminds me of mauve which I've always thought of as a color for a mother of the bride dress.

Pink by any other name....is still pink.  Which I happen to love ever since I bought that blush Roma 2 bag and the blush Gili obi belt.  I was never a "pink" girl before but I added some pink to my wardrobe.  The Rose Quartz name got me because I collect rose quartz jewelry.  I don't really pay any attention to the "color of the year" chatter.

Looks like something for everyone!

The top ten colors for men's and women's fashion for Spring 2016 are:

PANTONE 13-1520 Rose Quartz

PANTONE 16-1548 Peach Echo

PANTONE 15-3919 Serenity

PANTONE 19-4049 Snorkel Blue

PANTONE 12-0752 Buttercup

PANTONE 13-4810 Limpet Shell

PANTONE 16-3905 Lilac Gray

PANTONE 17-1564 Fiesta

PANTONE 15-1040 Iced Coffee

PANTONE 15-0146 Green Flash

Oh my gosh, I love that palette. Snorkel Blue is great. I would have loved to see some sort of turquoise or aqua shade in there - I can't get enough of those.
