Personally, I prefer to NOT attract attention to the parts of me covered by pants. And prints do draw the eye right to them.

Tiny prints, small dots, thin VERTICAL stripes: YES! Large flowers, tennis ball-sized dots, horizontal stripes: nope

I love a lot of the smaller prints or checks, and I prefer them on slim cut pants.  Big prints on wide-legged pants....uh...no!  That's just too loud and too much.
