I think if you live where the COL is lower as I do in Florida, then QVC's prices are very extreme, but if you live where the cost of living is higher they may not seem so. In other words - it is all relative.

I just have to say that I live in the midwest, and the food prices in the grocery stores in Florida as well as gasoline prices in Florida are much, much higher than where I live.  The food prices always shock me when I go down there annually.

I'm all but done shopping at the Q for clothing (and most other things, for that matter). I have several things in my closet from the Q that just weren't right on the mark or didn't have the best fit or lasting power. The bottom line is very few things represent money well spent.

The past several months I have been shopping at Nordstrom and Macy's and have found several great pieces and some really good prices, to boot. I can order on line and get free shipping and return to the store anything that does not suit me. That is a much better value for me!

I feel that way about most of my purchases from ALL of the shopping channels.

As an aside, I left my house Friday to run and buy my live wreath from Home Depot.  Other than that, I sat inside and shopped on-line for all the Black Friday deals and didn't have to fight the traffic or crowds.  I scored some awesome deals from Macy's and got my sister some clothing from The Limited. They had everything 60% off and free s/h.

Re: PRICES, PRICES, PRICES!!!

@Lipstickdiva, I bought the ED owl and bird lighted figurines last year from Q. I gifted the owl and left the bird out all year. Last week I noticed it didn't light up anymore so I put new batteries in. Still can't get it to light up. After similar circumstances with candles, etc., I have given up buying any items that light up. At first they do, until they don't. Frustrating.

It is frustrating.  The thing I really liked about these candles was that I could use the remote to change the colors.  Now they just light but it's a hassle to have to remove the bottom and pull a battery out of the one to get it to shut back off.  LOL

I have pretty much given up on any battery operated stuff because it seems none of them have a battery life as long as advertised.

Re: PRICES, PRICES, PRICES!!!

We have found that food is expensive here in Florida but eating out is cheap - go figure. On the other hand in Pa. eating out is expensive but food is cheaper at the grocery store. As a result of this research we eat out a lot more in Fl. than in Pa. We also almost always eat out at lunch time and not dinner. It is cheaper to eat lunch out - the portions are smaller, more normal size. I think at dinner they give large portions so they can charge more.

Re: PRICES, PRICES, PRICES!!!

If anybody has a Sam's Club...they have a lot of name brand quality items for so much less.

They lower the prices the longer they have them..they have a fantastic selection of Eddie Bauer stuff right now. I am not a fan of the casual clothing but my sister is..and they had the really nice quality material long sleeve t's for under ten bucks..and many other items.

Re: PRICES, PRICES, PRICES!!!

I quit shopping for clothes on the Q and I am going to B&M stores. I was at Kohl's and they are carrying Levi's brand and had some nice clothing. I can only purchase petites because they fit me and I don't have to worry about alterations. They are bringing in their spring line. I found crop pants that were sellling for $29.99 (regular price was $48.00). If you are a senior and go on Wednesday, you get an extra 15%.They fit so nice and the colors were great. I have lost over 61 pounds and wear a petite size 4. The clothing prices on the Q are way over my budget and are not my style. I am retired and wear casual clothing. I buy my shoes from DSW and they suit my style. Also, shipping and handling is free and if I do not like them, I go down the street and return them. I find it is easier for me to shop in B&M stores or online from Macy's, JC Penney and Kohl's. If I don't like something, I can take them back without being penalized for shipping and handling plus return label charges. I find that these are strong deterrents. I agree with most and find the pricing has gone too high for their clothing line.

Re: PRICES, PRICES, PRICES!!!

QVC and many retailers - with or without bricks and mortar stores - are getting their backsides kicked as consumers look for the best prices on everything they buy. The internet search engines make it so easy. American companies are also being caught between a high U.S. Dollar that makes all clothing made overseas more expensive as all foreign manufacturers are getting paid in U.S. Dollars and not their own currency. Younger customers aren't buying stuff either, they have other priorities.

It's why many retailers didn't do well in 2016. 2017 isn't shaping up to be any better.
