I realize this comment won't help Gemspirit and those who must shop online due to physical limitations, but have to share my experience yesterday. Younkers (part of the Bergmans, BonTon, etc. chain) opened at 5:00 yesterday evening. I ran down there because I always buy my BIL a golf shirt there for Christmas. Just my luck, they didn't have any this year.
So, I wandered. The deals on clothing were shocking! I have been looking at black/white plaid coats online, don't need one, and hadn't jumped yet. Then I saw a special on a pea coat . . . $19.97! It came home with me. As did three more tops. All were marked down 70%, and they are cute and stylish, not leftovers or returns or as is. I had a rewards coupon, so my total bill was $60.00. And I had an enjoyable chat with two women while standing in line.
I did notice that my coat in plus sizes was $10.00 more than mine.

So much for your moratorium on buying!
But those deals were definitely too good to pass up, esp. the plaid coat. Enjoy all your new purchases, MM, but no more crowing about your exercising restraint <wink wink>.
Oh, we fashionistas are weak......

Yes, temptations everywhere. But just about every chain store has their website now, as it is cost-effective to cut down on too much inventory. And you don't have to spend much to get free shipping. I got a Dooney from Macy's the other day that I have been admiring for just about half-price. It will be shipped to me free. How do you beat that? It will be interesting to see what happens once Amazon gets on TV, which they plan to do. And I am sure Alibaba will soon follow. Understand Alibaba's business in Asia completely dwarfs the size of Amazon, and you just know they will want their share of the American market.
I had had recently bought a jacket from LLBean for my DH and was dismayed when I received a coupon in the mail for 15 percent off all purchases. It was not a cheap purchase, so I called them and asked if they would consider an adjustment on my purchase - no problem! I didn't even have to make a case. Now that's customer service.

@PamfromCT I've posted here before that I'd never buy a D&B purse from QVC.
QVC sells them at retail, so I may as well buy it from the Dooney site which gives free S&H with a $150 purchase (which a D&B always is! LOL). Why pay another $12 S & H to QVC?

Very nice plush throws @ Tuesday Morning for FOUR DOLLars!

@Pearlee, Yes, I completely agree. I paid $110 for my small Lexington bag in celadon, which I have been wanting. And free shipping. If for any reason I don't like it, free shipping back. I have yet to buy a bag from QVC. I have a friend who loves Vera Bradley bags, and I have gotten great buys from the VB website, which is always running sales. Who doesn't want to stretch a buck?

Agree, the prices are high. But, all prices are high. I never thought I'd pay $5 for a 1/2gal of milk or a chicken breast! It's just that the cost of living is very high nowadays.
Goldenlocks...you're right about food. But I'm talking about clothing and hard goods. One example: Talbots has everything at 40% off today with the highest item at 50% off. I bought beautiful high end Pima cotton tees for 17.00 a piece! And a holiday dress was 50% off.
Macys has coupons on top of coupons on top of sales. And Nordstrom has a huge sale with double loyalty points whether you use their card or not!
and, when Q does sell food, how much higher is it from even a high end grocery store? JMHO.

Gemspirit~~I understand where you are coming from. I am in a similar situation, trouble with walking. The Q has been a huge help to me over the years. However, I agree the increase in prices has me now thinking about each thing I order. Just to let you know, you are not alone.

Oh, wow, I so agree. The pieces are mostly polyester and made oversees and with the inconsistent sizing, I am not only paying a hefty fee to return, but I'm running the risk of too many returns and putting my standing with the company in jeopardy. Once in a while I'll go for a Bob Mackie piece because his designs are so unique and I love Isaac Mizrahi's unique prints, but for me, SG has the lowest quality for the money with nothing very unique to offer in terms of style. And what doesn't help at all, sale prices are $5 or $10 off and clearance prices are similar. It's difficult to get a good deal anymore on the Q.

I have to say that I also agree. I have said for some time now that I think they are pricing themselves out of their market, and 'we' are their market. I very seldom make purchases here anymore due to the ever increasing prices and the S&H issues. How many times do we read posts here from different ones stating they no longer shop here, for this and other reasons. And with no incentives to shop, why would we not be going other places whether it be B&M stores or other online sites? I know many use their easy pay program and that is fine, but I figure if I need to spread payments out over several months for clothing, I really don't need it that bad. Just my opinion.
