Hoping to attend a family wedding early next May in Arizona. I know it will be summer already, so I'm thinking I should be looking now rather than after the winter.

I also know the wedding party itself will be fairly formal, but I don't expect the guests will be.  Just not casual.  That's good for me because I don't like glitter or satin and I'd like not to buy anything I'd wear just once.  Besides I think I'll be the oldest person attending, so I suspect they'll just be happy I manage to fly across the country and spend a few days. 

I think my feet and my upper arms are the limiting factors.  I probably can't find a better shoe than a flatish sandal and I must cover my arms at least to the elbow.   Right now I'm thinking a column of color top and slightly wide-legged full-length pants all topped with a lace or silk jacket.  

 Other ideas?  Color ideas?  Source ideas?    TIA

I'd look for elbow length sleeves unless you want sleeveless with a shrug.

Right now the "darker hues of summer/pre fall" are coming in.  If you want the brighter colors of summer, I'd look at the Nordstrom sale going on now.  Talbots has some pretty spring skirts and and coordinating tops, but many are sweaters.

IIRC, you like quality, so here is something I thought you might like.

These Eileen Fisher SILK (not satin!) pants are on sale at NM, in sizes 6 and 8 (I think those will fit you). $87

This Johnny Was top is also on sale, but not a deep deep discount, at NM.

There is a lighter version too, but I'm not sure if it's in your size.

That would give you separates that you could pair with other things, cover the arms, but you wouldn't be baking in AZ- just add a tank and voila!

They make a wide leg pant (sold out at CC) that you could find elsewhere.

There was a gray pant that matched back to the jacket.

Originally I liked this option a lot (elbow sleeves, and floaty) but the fabric is polyester and I thought it might read too "satiny" for Millie.
