Halle Berry in 2002 might be my favorite.
Is there a dress that speaks to you?

Amazing how many women won but did not attend the Oscars. Katharine Hepburn was obviously not a fan of the event.
I think I'm with you. I can still see Halle Berry in that dress. She is such a beautiful woman, and wore it well.

RE 1980 and Sally Field, there was an interview from CBS earlier this week where she discussed Bob Mackie's design for her Oscar win.

Here is an excerpt for those who aren't link clickers-
But in 1980 she won an Academy Award for “Norma Rae.”
On the red carpet she wore, not a gown, but a short white dress designed by Bob Mackie. “I didn’t have the wherewithal even then to say, ‘You know what? I wanna wear a gown.’”
“But it looked like an Easter dress.”
“It did. It was like a little girl’s dress, and I think he interpreted my personality.”
“Norma Rae” wasn’t a fluke. Five years later, Field won another Academy Award, for “Places in the Heart.” This time she wore an Oscar-worthy gown.

Not a favorite but Diane Keaton's outfit was certainly different. I need actual pictures of the women in the dresses.

I loved Cate Blanchett's dress.
Sandra Bullock's dress was beautiful that year too.

The Halle Berry dress is also my favorite.
I also loved Julia Roberts' vintage Valentino from 2001:

2005 Hillary Swank which was backless and 2013 Jennifer Lawrence. This year I really liked Kirsten Dunst in a black dress actually with high/low which I hate in tops but this dress was outstanding and her shoes were perfect.

My favorites: Cate Blanchett 2014, Sandra Bullock 2010, Reese Witherspoon 2006, Julia Roberts 2001, Audrey Hepburn 1954, and Norma Shearer 1931.
There were some pretty bad looks in the 1960s and 1970s, but in my opinion the worst was Diane Keaton in 1980.

I thought Julia Robert's 2001 was lovely and classic (as classics frequently are) .
Is there a site to go to for seeing it enlarged? TY for posting.
Glancing at Jennifer Jone's 1944 one makes me glad that if finally became unfashionable in my lifetime for real fur coats to be worn. When I was a little girl (middle to late 50's) they were still being worn and prized . They frightened me and looking back were horrid!
