l wear my Ugg boots over crops and capris, to keep my ankles warm. Problem solved!

I think that would really cut your height!  However, they used to wear leg warmers!

I can just see the mud, water, melted snow and ice and salt soaking into that fringe and creeping up the scarf and running down inside your shoes, soaking your feet in filthy cold stuff.  Super-ICK!!!

This is just silly and pointless. I think fringe boots with similar woolen look maybe... just maybe a  better option IMO. One where the fringes to lie right at the bottom and cause you to trip.
