Oh, and, I agree with you regarding how people dress .  If one travels to place outside the US, you see everyone looking very smart.  If I am not mistaken, other countries spend less on the quantity of their clothes but more on the quality.

I have been to 24 countries and frankly I don't see most people dressing any differently than they do here.  Even in places like Paris, while you will see some folks who are dressed up, the majority of people I see going about their everyday lives are casual. In many countries you see so many people on bicycles going to and from work and shops etc and they are certainly dressed in casual clothes.

Re: Nordstrom's Declining Sales

I live in St. Augustine and although I shop at Nordstrom online frequently, I have never been in the Jacksonville store. I have been in the Norstrom rack in the town center. When I got that way, I go to Costco and that is it unless I am meeting people to eat then we go to one of the restaurants right there. Nordstrom online has many size 11 shoes. I wear size 11 and frequently buy from them.

Re: Nordstrom's Declining Sales

The Business of Fashion blog has an interesting article about why Americans aren't shopping like they used to.
