@SoX   I asked my endocrinologist about that human growth hormone product (can't remember the name) that is advertised for women.  She said it's fake.  I really don't trust my endocrinologist, lol, however I would be too scared to try it anyway.  Aging is process.  If my body is in it's time to make less growth hormone, so be it.  I don't want to restart it or aggravate anything that could go sideways.

Woman LOL  ...  so would I ...

You really don't trust her?

@Bird mama, that is so true. I still have a lot in my closet that just doesn't get worn. I think I will be clearing more out this time around. I imagine that if one lives in a city, that there would be more reasons to 'dress up' more often, but where I live, everything is very casual. I will keep enough that I won't have to run out and buy, when that rare occasion comes along that I need something less casual, but it makes no sense to keep hanging on to all this stuff.

I heard this loud noise coming from one of my closets yesterday ... without even going to check, I knew what had happened:   the pole collapsed (and all the jackets are probably on the floor) ... I'll wait to go check when my DH is not around ...

Re: No AM Style Chat 2/23/19

@SoX   No, not really.  My ob/gyn treats me head to toe just like the doctor before him (rest in peace Albert).  The only reason I sought treatment from an endocrinologist for the thyroid is that she also does surgery.  I'm usually thinking 10 years ahead and I figured if I ever needed more in depth testing, biopsy or removal of the thyroid it would be best to already have an endocrinologist that does these sorts of things on 'retainer', lol.  Let's face it, the ob/gyn would refer me to a specialist at the point.

She gets on my nerves because she focuses strictly on the bloodwork results as a barometer of my overall well being. I'm a good patient, and when I was first diagnosed I got up at 6 am took my pill and didn't eat anything for 4 hours after taking it (as recommended).

I started the pill in January and developed a gut by May.  I read tales of women who picked up belly fat taking synthroid.  That concerned me because an increase in belly fat can lead to diabetes and heart disease.

I never changed how I ate - still picky as ever.

I stayed on the meds and asked her about it (at that time I was on an every 6 months check).  I barely got the question out and she dismissed me.

I read some legitimate medical journals and learned about a clinical trial where they gave patients synthroid at night before bed.  I made an executive decision to take synthroid the same time every night before bed and never told her.

Weight dropped off and bloodwork stayed before.  I finally told her about my schedule change after two years or so, lol.  She was a little irritated but she got over it.

She also harps on bone density because she treats that too.

Since I only have to see her once a year now, I don't let it get next to me.

Re: No AM Style Chat 2/23/19

@SoX   oh yea one more thing.  Because I know how I am, when I met her I told her that I question everything.  I said that if it would be problematic for her, I could find someone else - no harm, no foul.  So it's not like I didn't warn her.

My first reaction is that medicine “messing with” hormones is so chancy and with the men’s one...why do that?

I am dealing with a supposedly rare skin rash that the literature says is caused by contact with strong chemicals 👀👀

@LTT1  Do you know what chemical you came in contact with?

Re: No AM Style Chat 2/23/19

so...anyway...what is working the BEST so far is everything that practically comes out of the refrigerator!

Just that I know from past experience, pharmaceuticals need to be approached as a “problem” before even starting them.

Not necessarily pertaining to everyone, just me.

@Bird mama

I have at least two theories:

1) that flu/pneumonia vaccination of a year ago

2) latex mattress (this would be so bad if that is it)
