On a shopping note, I went to the mall to pick up some slippers after the bloodwork appointment.  Since there were many people in the mall, I actually went into Macy's and looked around.

I saw Patricia Nash handbags and almost bought one.  I was actually tempted to sign up for a Macy's card so I could get 20% off.

I didn't, but it was close.

@LTT1 - yes thank you, my spots have almost entirely faded and no new ones.

I bought a humidifier from Amazon, just arrived so need to hook it up but this should help us all (me and the kids) with the dry winter air.

For those classic film lovers, "The Shop Around the Corner" will air on TCM tonight at 8pm Eastern. Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullivan in the Christmas love story about pen pals who spar in real life. Echoes of the internet age by the brilliant director Ernst Lubitch.

Thanks for the info on "The Shop Around the Corner".  I watched that on TV many years ago, but will enjoy watching it again.

Do any of you do oyster stew on Christmas Eve? Or is that just a Midwest thing?

@LTT1

This is an interesting episode, if you have time to watch it.  The doctor is especially interesting.

@MaggieMack

I don't know that oyster stew is a Midwest thing, lol.

I'm not one for seafood/fish.  I don't think my grandmothers or mother ever prepared it for the holiday.

@Bird mama, maybe you're in the Mideast, lol! We never did it in California growing up. After my mom passed and my dad remarried (briefly), my "stepmom" (closer to my age than dad's), would make it every Christmas Eve. I liked it so have continued that tradition, even if I'm alone.
