Need some input about the color of my new handbag

I could really use some input. I do not carry many different handbags. I typically have just one that I carry until it dies. My sweet DH bought me a new BMak for Christmas. I was super impressed with his choice! It is a Helsinki two-tone tote - maize with cream straps. My question is, will the maize be a neutral color? It seems summerish to me, but I'm just not sure. Since I carry only one handbag, I'm debating taking it back and getting a brown or black to keep it more neutral. Thoughts?
