Pretty dress.  I am a jacket person also.  I would wear a plain black blazer over it and for a more casual look a jean jacket.

I did find this shrug,from CK, also at Macy's.

Personally, if I wanted to add something, I would look for a cropped cardigan in a contrast color.

I concur with @lolakimono . Anything longer would take away from the dress. I'd like to add though that I would choose a cocoon shape that curves around to the back if not the straight hemmed shrug
