Need Help Choosing Top

[ Edited ]

I found these abstract floral jeggings for $8. The fabric is very heavy and I probably won't wear them until fall.

When I look down at my legs I don't really like the print. But when I see myself in the mirror, I do. Abstract prints look better from a distance.

The background is blush with clay, teal and white print. I don't own any teal or clay tops. White or blush would be too spring/summery.

What color would work for fall? I own a chocolate brown shaker knit sweater. I'm willing to invest in a sweatshirt of the perfect color.

I would try black, brown or navy. You probably own those colors.  See how they work.

🕵 They do indeed look very spring/summer, because they are what they are. The medium rose pink color in the pants would be very complimentary, but I realize that's not the look your going for. Pack 'em away for next spring, and get a pair in a deeper colored print (brown, rust, gold, berry) for fall.

I'm lovin' emerald green and I was really surprised at how many colors in my closet it goes with!

ETA: Since you already have those, I would try to pull out the teal more by wearing a teal top.

Can't quite make out the color of the center of the flowers. Would  a charcoal gray for fall work?

For me I would go with a color in the print.  For fall I would try to match that darker clay.

I'm one of those people who are kind of matchy Smiley Happy   I would wear them out shopping to find the exact color I was looking for.

The print is pretty but I wouldn't consider it for fall at all.

@PickyPicky3.  A terracotta colored sweat or knit shirt would be perfect.  I just got a D&C shirt in "rich rust" that's a beautiful color.

If only there was no white in the print it would be so different. Yes, it is a spring summer item, but I will wear it off season.

So far this is my pick, but it's out of stock in my size:

I've never been to the Hamptons, but if I'd go it also would have to be off season. Somehow I think having the white in the sweatshirt will distract from the white in the jeggings. Or maybe not.

Light grey would work well and be easy to find. If you want to pull in the white, maybe find something with white details (ie placket, hoodie strings). Since you want it to read 'Fall', a hoodie would help with that. This is on sale at JCP for $25.
