When I was younger, the rule of thumb (pardon the pun) used to be that if your nails were short you shouldn't use colored polish.
My nails are short by choice. I trim them that way because I always have them in water and food - it seems more hygienic. Is it stylish or fuddy-duddy to put color on them when they're short?

I often sport Essie Mademoiselle on my nails:
But I I will change it up now and then with a very bold dark color:

My nails are short too. I like a nice neutral color on them as that goes with everything I wear. I never go with no polish. Sometimes I use a clear polish & that looks good too. I do go with a darker polish for my pedicure.

Definitely yes.
Now if I could only find a polish that didn't make my nails peel.....

I like polish on all nails BUT, I really dislike black nail polish on any nails. I know many ladies like that look, go for it if you like it, but it's not for me.
