I really wish NYDJ would make their petite jeans shorter than 28 inches. Most brand petite lengths start at 26 inches. I really love their jeans but I'm not buying them anymore because it costs too much to alter.

@donniesmom.  5he petite inseam is also too long for me, plus I can never figure out what size to order.  I don't trust "going down a size".  I don't want the "stuffed sausage" look some of the models like.

So I never buy anything.

28” works for me in bootcut jeans but I need 26” in straight leg. I never bought NYDJ jeans because the models always look poured into them.

I wore nothing but NYDJ maybe 2012 for 10 yrs!  I bought at nordies. Always, always sized down one size. I wore Marilyn bootcut.  Black, always black. They were different in beginning. I was taller then, 5'4", and always petite!! Then things changed a bit. I didn't care for QVC  NYDJ, always off size, and stretched out.  It was too hard to return. I bought a pair from QVC 3 years ago, so off size, and petite was way long. I guess when you find you size, they are good. Always fit so good in waist, butt and thigh. I don't know about now but back then they were all made USA.  I would talk to posters here about sizing in each style. Because it varies. I find measurement chart of NO use for these jeans here

I just went thru a whole NYDJ spree----got 3 pair2-- 2 were the recent TSV--bought it in reg length-- a size down--holy cow--was at least 3 inches too long--I am 5'5"--not petite at all and that smaller size was way too tight for me--I like a little give--and I don't wear high heels, so then tried a petite in the smaller size--and was  the same--not liking the fit around my thighs at all--too tight and shows the stuff I have there. Then #3 pair was a different style, same brand, and ordered it in my reg size, in petite and the cr#tch was so baggy----but the fit/legnth was right on. So back they all go--

My ideal length is regular at 29-30 inches---

Short is short; petite is petite. 28" is much too long for a 5' woman. Bite the apple, and if you make it for short people, take a chance and make it short.

I see 28" on Amy with very high heels, and the pants are dragging.

Petites want to wear sneakers and flats with their pants, too, so stop showing petites with very high heels wearing 28" dragging.
