NYDJ Jean Sizing “Gimmick”

I think it is so stupid for NYDJ Jeans to tell  customers to size down one or two sizes....just have the size chart corrected to the proper fit for size.  Just another marketing gimmick to make people feel like  they are in a smaller Jean. Who falls for that? They must think their buyer is dense.... it is a put down of sorts.

@SeaMaiden   I don't think it's a gimmick. You need the chart to see what size your hips/waist are actually are to choose your usual jean's size. I size down to a size 2 and they fit perfectly.

@Shanus  A gimmick. Why would you need to size down from a sizing chart? Just put the sizing info there like any other sizing chart.  The specs should be correct and the consumer should not have to size one way or the other.

@SeaMaiden   We'll agree to disagree. If they listed the true measurements for a size 2 jean, I'd never think they'e fit.

@Shanus  That is because their size 2 Jean is really a size 6/8 Jean.

we can agree to disagree ❤️ Hope you have a nice weekend🙂

@SeaMaiden

I want to try this brand of jeans but I do not because of all of the sizing games they play.  I would only buy a pair if I could actually try them on to determine my size.

I have noticed that about NYDJ, the vendor always says to size down, why even mention?  And this brand is so expensive!

Re: NYDJ Jean Sizing “Gimmick”

I agree.  Decided to try jeans one more time. Ordered NYDJ as recommended, one size smaller, and they ended up two sizes too tight.  Not to mention the length was mid-calf, but were supposed to be 30" long. They looked they were made for daughters,12 y/o's!

Good for those who have the patience to find brands that fit, but that was the end of jeans for me.  I don't need this aggravation.

I have to say I really don't care for the sizing games either.  It makes me think the jeans will "grow" during the day which is why they suggest sizing down.  I fell for that a couple of times and  found them to be too tight, like I was trying to fit into a smaller size.   I do agree there should be a universal size chart.

Re: NYDJ Jean Sizing “Gimmick”

I have two sizes of pants and jeans in my closet  and they all fit me.

So which size do I size down from??   If I order two sizes I have the hassle and expense of returning.  I do not want to have to be bothered with all of that.
