I love the videos from the NYT and this one on fashion week is particularly good.
Designers didn't wow for fall but the standout was the way in which they used new fabrics and computers to create things that didn't exist before.
Rubber cut to look like sequins (it really does-see the video), vintage native american textiles loaded onto computers and manipulated into brand new patterns, polyester faced with alpaca, bonded fabrics, etc.
This video from Bill Cunningham talks about the return of Harris tweed and the return of 'classic' style but done with an individualist twist. I think we will see this going forward.
I love fashion so this gave me a little early AM thrill.
