Many times I visit my kids who live out of town and they still aren't used to my "Mom the artist style" after all these years:  jeans, black sweaters (tops depending on weather), black high top sneakers (or boots), naturally curly hair left to do its own thing & maybe a colorful scarf or necklace, pin or lg. silver cuff bracelet that I made. My motto:

LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO EMBARRASSE YOUR KIDS

I love that idea ... as in, embarrass w/ fashion style ... being a bit "artsy" vs wearing say spandex legging w/ a tube top! Smiley Happy

I just read thru this thread ... missed it when it first appeared on boards. I do like the style, not that I could wear some of the outfits ... it's more the feeling you (I) get when you see the photos of her.

I have become almost ruthlessly boring about my fashion these days ... but can see how adding a few "fun" pieces you can make something look new. I mean I have the straight black jeans, the black turtle neck, the white long shirt ... but I don't have the Chucks! And because @lolakimono is always so generous sharing fashion finds (especially shoes and boots) I did see some shoes I *could* wear.

She looks amazing, absolutly love it.  Not everyone can pull it off.  She is styled from head to toe and thats why it all works together.  The hair, glasses etc everything has a slight edge to it.  It may not look as fabulous on someone else.

Love that motto: "Live long enough that you can embarrass your kids!"

Love hearing about your "daring" fashion additions!

@LTT1

I've picked up a couple of sheer pieces as of late and I find them surprisingly versatile!

One is simply a sheer dramatic lengthed overlay top while the other is a similar idea to your jacket with embroidery and beading (sleeveless top also). It's fun to play with different colors underneath isn't it?
