MORE LATER! KTHXBYE!

I think I'm in love with that bomber jacket!

And ACK it's almost turtleneck time!!!  I heard someone last nite (I think it was some jewelry person on QVC) say that turtlenecks are huge this coming season.  I kind of like the idea of them rather than the cowl which I'm already tired of and Fall isn't even here yet.  Turtles just look sleek and clean.

What I really like about the Accidental Icon is the inspiration, the new image of a woman who is older but still vibrant and cares about herself, explores new ways of expressing herself, and one of them is through fashion.

 It has given me permission to purge my closet too, to get rid of things I was holding onto because I liked them at one time, they were expensive or wonderful on me (in the past).  It has been liberating!!

After two days of work there is space between items on the closet rods, the shelves are organized and I have room to gently fold and place my "new" things, plus a few old favorites I'll always love as long as they fit (my Ralph Lauren fisherman knit sweater).

I can find things now and get more use out of the things I really like, the "new me" now that I am older and my shape has changed.  My clothes are flattering, and I don't have that horrible day when I try to wear something from 10 years ago and it looks dreadful now and makes me depressed for days.

Love her blog, and the inspiration here too!

I don't think it's a matter of whether you like black and white, or even her hairstyle, it's her ATTITUDE.  Heck, I don't even look good in black.  But I'm following her blog because she's an inspiration. Thanks again, @LTT1!

Yes, it is all about attitude. It's how you carry yourself through life and I think people who do what they want with their appearance as they are aging, exude a happy demeanor. I know if I am wearing clothing that I am just not comfortable in whether it be the fabric or style, I am just a little bit more shy when I go out into the world... Certainly after 60 a woman should give herself permission to wear what she wants...Heart

No doubt Lyn Slater is an accomplished woman.  She wears clothes well because she is thin and can play to the camera.  I cannot help but wonder what the sunglasses are hiding.

I am 64 and when I first saw her pictures I guessed her to be about 80.

I like a lot of her outfits but think the sneakers look silly.  They were the first thing that caught my eye, and not in a good way.

I'm not sure how old she is, but I thought the point of her blog is not about looking younger, but about embracing your own style at ANY age.  That speaks to me, because I'm not trying to look younger than my 67 years either. I just want to look like a stylish 67 year old. There are lots of fashion blogs out there with women who are/look younger. They aren't as relevant to me because I don't really identify with them. Just my take on things.

My take on this blog is not to try to emulate her, but to wear what you like, feel comfortable in and what looks good on you, no matter what your age is. Not to grab every new trend that comes down the rails, but to pick and choose carefully what you know works for you, in your life and lifestyle. It's what I have always done and still do. I'm 65, if that matters.

@Snicks1

I am tired of my wardrobe and enjoy changing up my look occasionally. It is fun, to me, to experiment!

Your fashion idea certainly is classic, it would serve you well throughout the years... I'm very happy for you.❤️

Wow @LTT1, that is one great looking jacket. Are you saying that you located the exact same jacket?  Way to go!
