Monday - Fall CLothes Already????

[ Edited ]

Looked over the program guide for the rest of the weekend and Monday.  Monday - preview of fall clothes already?

This just gets earlier and earlier doesn't it?  CRAZY!!!  And Ms Rinna kicking it off?

Re: Monday - Fall CLothes Already????

Many years ago, QVC used to promote itself by saying it was unlike department stores that brought out fall clothes in June.  QVC only sold summer clothes during the summer months.  Yes, you'd start to see some fall things in August, but June and July were summer items.  Guess that's changed now that there is so much competition out there.  I don't mind seeing fall things because I go back to work in September and do like to make a few early purchases.  I was in Staples two weeks ago and they had Back-to-School specials.  Hey, Christmas things should be out in a few weeks Smiley Wink

I was in a major department store last week and they were showing winter coats.

Each seasons clothes always seem to come before the season.

I'll gladly focus on anything "Fall" related just to get my mind off of the extremely hot and humid weather outside!!  Never liked summer....and like it even less in my golden years!

I don't think it's early for QVC, this is what they do every year at this time, they jump right into Fall clothes.  I suppose somebody must buy them but not anyone I know.  I assume QVC has an older demographic who will buy whatever they put in their shows.  It's too early for me to even look at Fall clothes to get some ideas, I still have summer clothes that I haven't worn yet.

Re: Monday - Fall CLothes Already????

When they showed the commercial/preview they mentioned fall but to me that clothes still all looked very light, mostly short sleeved, etc.....I know fall can be warm....and i think those clothes represent that....

I am the older demographic as you would say.  My birthday is today.  I have seen fall clothes in the department and boutique stores on my birthday ever since I was 8 years old and that is no short time ago, so perhaps you have not been a "shopper" like many of us have been here to know that July 15 is prime time for department stores for bringing out the fall clothes.

It's not that far away for some zones and many others are like me, they can't afford to go out on the first cool day and buy a whole wardrobe, but prefer looking at what is in the market, selecting, being selective in our choices and having it ready (as being prepared) for the fall season.

You do not need to infer that those who are the "older demographic" are the only shoppers addled enough to be buying fall clothes now. It is , in fact, the youth who drive the fashion train in this country - not the "Older demographic".
