@GinaV24 wrote:@ALRATIBA Other than people like Courtney or Amy and once in a while some of the thinner models, we never see them close a jacket properly.
Most of the time I rely on the click here measurements before I purchase but even then sometimes the proportions are just off.
i Never, ever wear my jackets or cardi's closed.
Never have, never will.
I have a tree trunk torso...closed jackets just accentuate that.
Some jackets, like jean jackets.....need to be properly fitted in the shoulders, closing them isn't really how they are worn.

There is NO WAY Shawn is an xs or xxs like she claims she is. Size medium sounds more like it. Looks like she's gained a LOT of weight.
I HIGHLY doubt the legal department at QVC is going to let ANY host lie on air about what size they are wearing.
Get over it people....they are wearing that size.
It is a whole OTHER issue whether in YOUR opinion, they should be wearing that size or not.
Falsifying sizes in order to possibly increase sales would be a huge legal issue and no way QVC is going to allow that. Do you know what kind of Class Action suits would be against them? The FCC has volumes of regulations!
The label is what they say.

When a slim, slim model is wearing 'tight-ish' pants/jeans, then I size up.
Lately, I've been noticing a few pant items fitting not-as-tight, which I prefer. They seem classy-classic to me.

These days I wear a 14 or a Large, but my size and shape is nothing like CG who always says she wears a large. The hosts' or models' have zero impact on the size I order, I go by the garment measurements. Even though I'm usually a large, there are times I can get a medium 🤷‍♀️
@JeanLouiseFinch I could have written your post. I usually wear a large too, sometimes a medium. I am shaped nothing like CG.

Garments are meant to fit in either the shoulder (tops, jackets, etc.) or the waist (pants, skirts, etc.) The proportions are fixed to a standard ratio (shoulders-bust-waist or waist-hips). Unless the model, or any other person, has those proportions, the garment may appear ill-fitting, depending on the fabric. So a woman with a large bust may wear a top that fits in the shoulders, but pulls at the bustline. That doesn't mean the garment is too small, it simply means that style of garment does not suit her figure. If she were to purchase tops to fit at the bust, they would sag at the shoulders and she would appear dowdy, frumpy, or sloppy.
QVC uses many unconventional models, their clothes may not fit them perfectly.

Excellent post! I have mentioned this idea many times wrt Carolyn and criticism about items that are tight through the middle on her occasionally. She always says she has narrow shoulders and short arms; if she sized up in some tops, they would look too big overall and hang on her. So, she makes the best choice she can sometimes when faced with the fit of the garments she's selling.

So then Jane Treacy really wears an XS? Seriously?

I agree that not every style looks good on all body types. So then why show the garment at a disadvantage when it doesn't look good on the model/host?
Every line probably has some garments that look good on the larger size models - why not feature those and not force the model/host to wear something that looks either ill fitting or just off? It can't help sales.
Unless they are trying to convince us that the new trend is to wear clothes that don't fit.

@RespectLife So if your theory is correct you would be saying that Shawn is only one size bigger than Amy..

I don't think Jane claims to wear an XS, especially not in bottoms. Seems to me she says a small on top and a size 8 on the bottom (QVC sizing).
