Modal fabric-good for very hot weather? Launder well?

In Texas, I spend a fair amount of time outside in 90+ weather. Love cotton knits.

I am seeing dresses & skirt I like in Modal.

How is it in very hot weather? Does it breath? Wick away moisture?

Wash well? Pill? Need ironing?
