I have a black/white stripped sweater similar to first pic but not cropped.  I wear it with black/white polkadot ankle pants with a pair of red shoes for a pop of color.  That is as far as I go with mixing patterns.

I wear a striped skirt with a floral blouse. I texted a pic to my daughter before I wore it the first time. (I had to make sure it wasn't a fashion don't LOL)

It is not something I really want to try. I know it can look nice, but many times it just looks terrible
