Gwinneth, who spent $1500 on just her makeup for the event.

@LTT1 I still love Katie Holmes' dress. Gives her a great shape and it's cool looking without being outrageous. I know the point was to be camp and outrageous, but that's not Katie's personality.

Paltrow looks like she's wearing a night gown, but her hair doesn't look as stringy as she usually wears it.

I love Katie’s dress too!

I just didn’t recognize her in one particular picture...maybe due to more makeup or lighting.

It is cute what she did.. wearing some stems across collar bone to be “camp.”

But her dress is tdf... it is the definition of glamorous to me.

Glad the thread is still alive!  Sorry so many don't understand that this is all about a museum exhibition.  The Met does not fund the Costume Institute.

I'm so very glad it exists and so are designers and also students.  As I said upthread 165 million saw last year's exhibition.  But you knew that, that isn't for you I'm posting.

Also a lot of the dresses reference things not everyone knows about.  I would never have known Sophia Loren.  Etc.  Not everyone knows everything and no one has seen the exhibition yet.

Looked into it, the collar of Katie Holmes's theme was made via 3-D printer.  That's modern camp!  (No banning for Katie Holmes).

Anyway:  Reason for this post, in the ultimate camp move Mattel was busy too -- creating a Barbi to match Kasey Musgrave's look.

It's for sale in the Met Costume Institute's exhibit gift shop!  How much do we love this?

@Greeneyedlady21   Duh forgot to say it didn't just come out, it was done in secret and made available on the night of the Gala.

Ahh Liberace...no one did camp like he did and he got rich doing it.  I got to see him in Las Vegas and actually got to shake his hand and touch that ermine cape.  Fabulous show, fabulous entertainer.  The true definition of camp to me.

Did you see the outfit Christian SIriano designed and Ryan Murphy wore for the Met Gala, a tribute to Liberace?
