Mega-clothing purge ! Does anyone here have less storage space than i do?

I know I've mentioned this before, but it has just gotten a little more dire this week. I have a total of 6 feet of closet hanging space and SMALL chest of drawers for panties and socks and stuff like that. We bought a new bed this week and there's no room under it for storage. My task this week is yet another closet purge. I'd like to know if anyone on the boards has such limited space and if so, what are your "rules" for what stays and what goes? When I say this is all the room I have, I am not exaggerating. There is no available guest closet, hall closet or garage space for a wardrobe. Advice please, I'm more than a little overwhelmed. Thanks in advance ~
