Maxi Dresses for Office Attire - Appropriate?

Do you all think maxi dresses are appropriate for office attire? I'm not talking the strapless or one shoulder numbers that look like your going to a garden party or just bopping around, but ones that are decent in the bodice area.

I have one that I just purchased that I'd love to wear. The top is fully covered and it is an ethnic print but not loud or really wild. The office is not totally conservative but not really bo-ho either. Let's put it this way -- ladies wear nice capri pants and dressy tops most of the summer.
