I did once. Bought it for a special date. Never again. Cheap looking.

Save up your pennies and buy good quality.

You can tell by the price whether cashmere sweaters are good quality.  Lower priced are often 1 ply and use short haired goats that are usually itchy.

Long haired goats from inner Mongolia produce the best fibers for cashmere, but are expensive.  Italy and Ireland produce the best cashmere.

Naadam, one of QVC's vendors produces good cashmere sweaters at a very reasonable price.  I don't know how they do it, but it's 2 ply from long haired goats from inner Mongolia.  I purchased 3 crewnecks and very pleased.

QVC has all on sale.  Maybe, this vendor isn't returning, nothing new has come in...too bad.

Long haired goats.

I've never bought a cashmere sweater from Charter Club but have gotten other items in that brand and have been happy.  As long as the cashmere is 2 ply I would be OK with it.  Macy's has great sales on their items.  I don't always find that the more I spend the better the quality so I would wait for a sale.

The colors are beautiful, they were all layed out on a table.

The cashmere was thin but that's to be expected, cashmere is very expensive and you're not paying hundreds upon hundreds of dollars with Macy's brand.

They do run small but so soft.....................

I bought a Charter Club mock neck cashmere sweater from the thrift store recently. I have many cashmere sweaters to compare it to. Don't know how old it is, but it's 2-ply and very good quality.

Macy's cashmere is cheap.   Put your money towards a better quality cashmere.

I have a few Charter Club cashmeres. They’re 2-ply. I have a Nadaam from QVC and they’re comparable. They go on sale for $75 so if I only get a few seasons out it, it’s not a big deal.

Yes, cashmere is expensive, but buying a sweater is more than just fabric.

Fit, color, style, design, and so forth are also part of the decision.

I have some Macy's Charter Club, yes it is thin, and does run a bit small in size, but some of the colors and designs are very pretty. Macy's has great sales.  Sometimes the heavier multi-ply cashmere can be too warm or heavy if one is indoors.

I also have nice cashmere sweaters from all the major department stores, and QVC, but the nicest cashmere I ever saw in my life was in Scotland.  Unfortunately I did not purchase as it was very expensive, but I always remember it. The company Gorsuch often carries very fancy cashmere sweaters but they are costly!
