Re: Macy's Charter Club Cashmere sweaters?

I have several Charter Club cashmere sweaters from Macy's.  None are new.  They have to be over 15 years old.  All are like new.  I wore a lot of cashmere when I worked.

I prefer a thinnner cashmere.  It can get so hot if it is too thick.

I also have cashmere from Lands End, which is super nice too.

I used to have a cashmere V neck pull over from QVC, but it stretched while I was wearing it and was junky. It was two ply and almost see through. Yuck!

You must be sure there is no dirt, especially food on your sweaters, or else you will have little bug  holes throughout your sweaters.  They must be stored away 100% clean even for short periods of time.

I have an older Charter Club cashmere turtleneck that's nice quality but I bought a cream colored one a few yers ago and it was see-thru - much too thin.

Land's End's cashmere sweaters are a really nice quality for the price especially when  they're on sale.  And LE offers promo codes often for more of a discount.

Beware of Q's cashmere - I haven't checked lately but in the past their sweaters were not 100% cashmere.

By the way - I store my wool sweaters and other woolens in plastic ziplock bags - I put those little silica packs in with them - they keep the wool moths out.  I read this in Parade Magazine years ago - it really works.  And no odor like moth balls.  I air mine out before storing them in the plastic bags.

I have a pale pink and a cream cashmere sweater. Neither is completely opaque. I think it’s just the nature of the fabric, not necessarily an indication of quality.

You can tell by the price whether cashmere sweaters are good quality.  Lower priced are often 1 ply and use short haired goats that are usually itchy.

Long haired goats from inner Mongolia produce the best fibers for cashmere, but are expensive.  Italy and Ireland produce the best cashmere.

Naadam, one of QVC's vendors produces good cashmere sweaters at a very reasonable price.  I don't know how they do it, but it's 2 ply from long haired goats from inner Mongolia.  I purchased 3 crewnecks and very pleased.

QVC has all on sale.  Maybe, this vendor isn't returning, nothing new has come in...too bad.

Long haired goats.

Took your advice and I bought a black hoodie from Nadaam.

Re: Macy's Charter Club Cashmere sweaters?

some of the "promotional" cashmere is not that great

just need to look and feel,  I think they churn it out for the Christmas season,  that said sometimes you don't want super heavy sweater

FWIW I just bought a "vintage" Charter Club sweater and the yarn is better than what I could get today
