Loved this from Cindy Adams Tribute to Joan Rivers

And hawking jewelry on a shopping network she considered religious: “Anybody buys from me, they’re sacred. QVC is holy work.”

Gotta love that woman!

I recall that time when the well was dry for Joan and then along came the Donald who jumpstarted her career to a point where she felt confident once more. May God bless her and him for what they did for each others' careers.

Eh, I think she was doing very well without 'The Donald's' help. It was because of her notoriety that she was chosen for 'The Apprentice'.

Re: Loved this from Cindy Adams Tribute to Joan Rivers

I read this and then another tribute from Cindy, where she talks about Joan's hospital room and then I heard Joy Behar interviewed. She said when she heard of Joan's death, she was walking around in the Hamptons with Cindy Adams and Barbara Walters and it was really a shock when they heard the news. She said they were all speechless.

Has anyone else heard this??? {#emotions_dlg.confused1}

Hadn't read anything on that sohiamarie ~ but since Joan's death was not exactly a surprise but Joan's sudden hospitalization on life-support status WAS, I wonder if that might have been the speechless moment in the Hamptons.

Re: Loved this from Cindy Adams Tribute to Joan Rivers

thanks for the link to that article. Wherever she is, I hope that she's still telling jokes & having fun. When I was young, I remember my family always had card parties, they'd get together and play cards and laugh. When my uncle died some years ago. I woke up from a dream hearing my uncle's big laugh and voices chattering. I remember thinking, well, wherever they are, they are having fun & are OK. That dream gave me a lot of comfort under the circumstances.

I knew I liked Joan and enjoyed her presentations, but I didn't realize how much I liked her until I heard she was in the hospital.
