Love/Hate relationship with Lori Goldstein

Just have to finally say this: Lori's obsession with layers and colors is toooo much! I love Lori Goldstein's personality and philosophy and I have purchased many of her items and have really loved them. But, my opinion on two of her main hallmark issues I heartily disagree with are 1) putting all kinds of different colors on at the same time is crazy. We already have people who do this - they are called "clowns." Some colors simply do not look well with all other colors and that is a simple fact. 2) The layers, layers and layers all the time is crazy too, I don't find it makes you more comfortable but, it does make you look messy. If this were truly a great look, why don't the models come out dressed like this when they are doing other shows, with jewelry, or why don't the hosts come out wearing four layers? I have had to laugh every time I see some of the models, especially the bigger ones, when they are wearing the first layering piece that hangs way down and is a light color. It looks like they are wearing an apron and they just put more and more clothes on over it. Usually, simple is better. Maybe all this works for Lori, but for me and many others, who are known for dressing well, this just is not a look we want to achieve. Its just too CRAZY!

You can choose to style your outfits as you please. Lord styles them as she pleases. I don't think all the layers are attractive, but that's how they "can" Be worn

I'm trying to figure out how 3 and 4 layers of clothing can possibly be comfortable.

She obviously likes to layer. It suits her quirky style.

I very much enjoy many of her tops, but I certainly would never layer the way she does.

Based on how she dresses herself, I wouldn't let her style me .... her "advice" would mean nothing!

I wear layers - but my style is very different than Lori's. And my color choices differ.

On Friday, I saw a young woman (20-something) dressed just like Lori and topped off with a short black leather jacket.

But after you've put on that many layers (of her clothing or any clothing) I would think it would just feel weird. And pulling tops over each other seems like it would be awkward as the fabrics wouldn't slide easily, and dealing with sleeves? And then keeping them all looking neat/straight and not bunched. I'd be constantly tugging and pulling at everything. Ugh, I can't imagine.

I think if you wear your clothes close-fitting - bunching might be a problem.

I wear undergarments made for knits - they are slippery and your knits don't bunch up.
