Today, I retired my last pair of Ponte knit pants from Louis Dell Olio.  It is a very sad day.

Louis knew how to select fabric and design perfect blazers, skirts and slacks.  He designed pants that were figure flattering, never skimping to save a few pennies.  Not a single fashion line on QVC comes close to what he brought to QVC for his "ladies".

I miss quality......

Re: Louis Dell Olio Ponte Knit

As Heidi Klum says about fashion, "One day you are in, and the next day you are out."

Louis is a great designer, the same as Bob Mackie, Isaac Mizrahi, Dennis Basso and others.

The issue is that fashion designers cannot please all of the people, all of the time, and styles change.

Many QVC shoppers seem to prefer more casual or simple clothes these days.  Others are retired and no longer need work outfits.

Some, like me, may have more clothes than they can wear, and do not need to shop as much.

I think most designers who sell on QVC do quite well, and create a nice little nest egg with all their sales.

QVC has to keep a positive bottom line, so they cannot keep those vendors who no longer hit their target sales marks.

I enjoy all my QVC purchases!

I could not agree more.  When I was working, I would wait for his new collections to come out on QVC.  His clothes made up most of my working wardrobe.  The quality was exceptional and they wore so well.  I still have a couple of his sweaters.  I have not found another line of that quality let alone at that price point.  I miss his designs too.

Re: Louis Dell Olio Ponte Knit

I still have a couple of LDO pieces.

I had one particular spring style jacket that came in turquoise, yellow, fushia, white, red.  The only color I did not have was yellow (can't wear that color).  When I retired and moved to the beach, I donated them to a women's shelter.  Went to a great cause, but that was tough.

I still have a pair of faux suede black pants that I tried to sell in Poshmark.  No interest, so the heck with everyone, I'm keeping them.  And I have some tops that I still wear when I temp.

I miss his shows, I miss his clothing, I miss the quality.

I still have a lot of his pieces and wear them often. They have held up very well. I miss his line so much.

Re: Louis Dell Olio Ponte Knit

I was later than most of you discovering Linea, but I am still enjoying everything I bought. I have dresses, jackets, trench coats, and summer skirts with matching tops.

It's rare that I don't wear something Linea every week.

I was very unhappy with the way Louis was treated, after his many years at QVC. I didn't understand it.

Re: Louis Dell Olio Ponte Knit

So glad I still have many Louis pieces from the trench coats, blazers, leather jackets, pants, etc.  I'm retired and still wear his clothes and don't agree that they cannot be worn casually.  What's dressy about trench coats, blazers with jeans or basic ponte pants?  I'm sure not wearing mom jeans and sweat shirts.  No QVC designer since him has given us such beautiful collections.  He is still missed after all these years.

Perfectly well said @Biftu.  This is exactly the way I feel.  In fact just last week I met a friend for lunch and I wore a pair of jeans with a LDO animal print blouse tucked in with a jean jacket. As much as I miss the opportunity to purchase more from Louis, I am so grateful 80% of my closet contains his line of clothing.

I miss many of the "true designers" that used to be on QVC.  Rarely buy from the pseudo designers who now dominate.
