It does look like a house robe to me. Seems these days fashion has turned it's head to bedroom-attire-looking clothes ...to be worn on the streets.

 I remember when that was first shown, I thought the same thing. I'd never wear that outside.  Too much like lingerie and totally impractical for my life.

Many of these long cardigans like Barefoot Dreams look like bath robes.  Add a little lace and you've got a negligee.  I can just see myself waltzing into the grocery store in the outfit.
