@Nonametoday   Cotton dresses are very cool in the summer, that is all I buy, mostly lightweight gauze. They are much cooler than any pants clinging to my legs. Being in my 70s, I have not worn shorts in many years.

Living in the Northeast, it can get humid, but rarely 100 degrees or higher. If it is hot and humid, my house and most places have air conditioning. If it's very hot, I will wear shorter, knee length dresses.

If you can't see thru it in the sunlight, then you don't need a slip, but if you do then you need a slip. I usually just wear a hallf slip with all of my dresses and skirts to be on the safe side..

I wear a lot of dresses and skirts,especially in the Summer. I find them very comfortable.......
