Can't imagine that it makes anyone "feel good" and it adds no value or positive purpose. On 1/16/2015 jubilant said:I only recently started watching the show. I love to see what kind of outfits these young people come up with. Some are truly talented. I have only seen 3 shows and it will be interesting to see Lisa doing something like this. She does know her stuff.
If I was a betting woman....I'd bet the heckler's here will have front row seats....they will never admit it though!!!!!! We'll see.
Hi, jubilant!
I think you nailed it.
There's a phenomenon called "hate-watching."
People watch shows with the intent to dissect and ridicule the show or the participants. I first came across the term when looking for articles about the NBC show "Peter Pan Live!"
The online definition of hate-watching:
"Hate-watching is the act of watching a show that you claim to dislike with the sole purpose of mocking it."

Plus you can watch older episodes "on demand". The episode about the QVC challenge when Lisa is a host is called "Versatile Tops and Bottoms" airing on Thur Jan 22 at 9 p ET

I hadn't heard of "hate-watching" but I have known women who pick apart other women every chance they get. They wonder why they have no friends
If they do it to others.... they will do it to you....you can pretty well bank on that. It's a pretty bad habit to get into to.

I belive you've nailed it! It's a condition many are afflicted with. From what I see on this board, it's an epidemic.

Chi-town, jubilant and sparklestar, I don't understand the psychology behind "hate-watching." But it clearly happens, and it happens a lot from what I've observed (and there are lots of internet articles on the topic).

Yes...more of it here than a person wants to see. Don't they know it screams either insecurity or arrogance? We still have lot's of encouragers and caring people here and I still think we outnumber them!

I've noticed that a large percentage of the time the first people that respond do so in a very negative sarcastic way. Now you can tell most of the time by looking at the title whether or not it's something of interest. Even after you open the thread and see it's of no interest, why not just move on. It's not even a matter of "opinion" ... this thread was just a nice gesture sharing some information for those interested. But people just can't leave it at that.
