I am a lover of 100% linen. As a purist, I don't care for linen blends. While a blend may cut down the wrinkling aspect of the garment, it just simply does not have the same organic look and feel.

My linen pieces are casual and, therefore, the inherent wrinkles seem okay for a beachy vibe. I machine wash, machine dry and don't even touch them with an iron. I feel that once linen is ironed, it becomes much more susceptible to the dreaded wrinkles.

Oh, one more thing. My experience has shown that the heavier weight the linen, the less wrinkling.

I absolutely love linen, for the 5 minutes I have it on before it starts to wrinkle. It doesn't just wrinkle, it looks like an accordion. I gave away all my linen a few years ago. I agree with some who've said linen blend is just not the same, but it's a substitute I have grown to like very much. In fact, as with most other fabrics, newer technology has some linen blends looking fabulous.

Until I can retire, and live every day with my painting easel and straw hat on the beach, I will stay away from 100% linen.

Since I'm philosophically opposed to ironing, no linen for me.

Linen is off my radar. I don't want any fabric I have to baby and iron, especially in the summer. Fifteen minutes of wear and you look like an unmade bed.

I don't iron my linen ever and it looks great. I put it in the dryer for maybe 5 minutes tops, take it out, hang it up and smooth it out and let air dry. Pants, button down shirts, anything. It doesn't have to be babied at all. Nothing cooler and more effortlessly chic IMHO. Not see through, doesn't shrink.

One of my few shopping promises that I have actually kept: JUST SAY NO TO LINEN

absolutely HATE linen now.....just dont care for the feel or the ""wrinkled in less than 5 minutes"" look.

I wash mine in the washing machine and dry in the dryer. Ironing is against my religion so I never iron mine.

lol hennypenny, we are of the same faith! I adore linen and air dry and it's fine, especially if it's a good quality linen.

Something so wonderful about a cool summer wind and a linen dress....maybe the romantic in me!
