Hi, magic!
I bought a new red and black houndstooth wool skirt from Talbots recently (during a 50% off promotion) that I plan to wear to our company Christmas lunch tomorrow. The skirt will likely be worn again to Sweetie's family party on the evening of the 23rd.
I am fortunate in that the clothes I usually wear to holiday functions are dependable classics that I've had for awhile. It's such a relief to know I can reach for certain pieces and know that they'll work.
Good luck in your quest to find the perfect jacket!

No. I have plenty of clothes to wear, but I am not attending nor hosting any holiday parties. Staying home, so it will be jeans or sweat pants, fleece top and slippers!

I used to when my husband was active duty Navy and we had tons of functions to attend. Not too much any more!

Usually a sweater (not Christmas design) or two or an outfit. Not this year.

yes! not a "holiday outfit", per say, but items i am psyched to have. I bought and wore a skirt for the first time in 10 years. I found the skirt at Sears in the Land's End section. The skirt is just a dark denim, 5 pocket mid knee skirt. I especially like this skirt because i can wear it in any weather except for very hot. $35.00 well spent. I have worn that skirt to a retirement party, to a Saturday night out to dinner and to see A Christmas Carol, and to a choir concert. I also got a pair of black boots and a pair of brown boots from Nautralizer on HSN that are all leather, mid calf and really comfortable. The boots along with tights the skirt and a sweater is a really easy outfit where I feel "dressed" and ready for anything. I can see myself wearing the skirt to church and to work. My 2015 fashion resolution? More skirts!

Just family so I bought a Quacker Factory tee with xmas tree on front and a plain velour Denim & Co velour top.

Yes, but usually something more casual, not dressy. But something definitely *new*. I don't have many fancier things to do over the holidays, so a new blouse or something to wear on Christmas day is always nice.

In the past, I used to buy a new dress for the formal holiday parties we'd have at work. These days, everything is so casual and I have plenty of stuff to wear in my closet already, so, no, I don't usually buy anything new for myself specifically to wear to holiday parties. If I find something I absolutely adore, then maybe, but I don't go out looking for something specifically for the holidays.

Hi maddie!
Your skirt sounds great! I am a big fan of woolens in plaid, check, tweed, herringbone and, of course, houndstooth!
You are probably at your company luncheon as I type this, so I will just say I hope your are having a wonderful time!
p.s. thanks for wishing me luck. I have allocated quite a bit of time to holiday shopping since this past weekend. As you stated in a previous thread, I am becoming "shopped out"!

I own lots of holiday type clothing in classic styles that could still look stylish but we don't entertain at the holidays and I never dress up anymore. No one I know does either.
