Re: Less Spandex in Summer Tops, Please, Designers!

My favorite tees are 95/5; they are more form-fitting on me than 100 percent cotton, which usually hangs on me.

I don't think that 95/5 is necessarily less expensive than all cotton. And I wear my tees all year round without ever feeling overheated.

I also like that with just a few minutes on low in the dryer and then hanging them results in NO wrinkles.

I prefer cotton blends or cotton when it's really hot and muggy outside.  I like 1% or 2% spandex in my tops.  I like a little stretch and Spandex does prevent wrinkles and creases.

@NanaLinda  I agree with you.  2% or even 1% spandex is enough.  You just want a little stretch.  I don't feel like I am walking around like a human rubberband.  lol

@suzyQ3

I don't mind a little spandex either and I've never felt rubbery spandex?! And I'm quite the tactile shopper. The only rubbery thing I had was a scuba knit that could literally stand in the closet without a hanger! LOL it went back

But for those that don't like the spandex there is plenty of cotton out there for the summer. I recently picked up quite a few sleeveless cotton pieces

Edited to add that madewell, at Nordstrom, has some great whisper cotton tanks and tees. Very light weight and breathable

Yep....I made the mistake 2 years ago of buying a few of D & C tops for a vacation in Florida......I was miserable in them.
